Ken McGee started playing guitar at age twenty in Denver, Colorado. He soon learned that he could make others smile with his songs. A soldier at the time, his first public performances were in Army recreation centers in Germany. Quickly developing his "chops," he began playing in guesthouses in Germany and pubs in England and Ireland. After a one-night stand with a five-piece country band on New Year's Eve in Leesville, Louisiana, he realized his calling was as a solo act. He played in bars and coffee houses while going to college in Rhode Island and then travelled south to Key West where he spent seven years playing in bars such as Sloppy Joe's, Rick's Cafe Americain and Captain Tony's. For the last sixteen years, he has lived in Indiana where he has played at various venues including Borders Book Shop, the now defunct Herb 'n Things, Indianapolis Irish Fest, Fionn MacCool's Irish Pub, and Deano's Vino Restaurant and Wine Bar. He also served as an "Artist in Residence" at the Eiteljorg Museum of American Indians and Western Art in 2006.
